Poznań, Grochowe Łąki Street 7
The tenement was erected around 1907 by the prominent Poznań entrepreneur Franz Kantorowicz as part of a complex of buildings on Grochowe Łąki Street. The project was designed by the esteemed architect Martin
Sonnabend, who at that time introduced innovative reinforced concrete construction technology from France to Poland. This was a novelty that Kantorowicz, due to its exceptional parameters for that era, was keen to use, being a pioneer in the application of this solution in Poznań.
The renovation of the residential building at Grochowe Łąki 7 included comprehensive revitalization. A key element of the work was the restoration of the historic facade, including the reconstruction of the original balconies. The renovation also involved the replacement of plumbing and electrical installations. Additionally, the renovation included roofing work and restoration work in the common parts of the building, including the staircases. Thanks to these efforts, the building has gained a new quality while retaining its historical character.
